Scooter or motorbike driver
Many companies use scooter or motorbike drivers to deliver their goods. From pharmacies and printers to law firms and takeaway restaurants, these drivers do short trips throughout the day. Applicants who are looking for this type of driving role will need to have a motorbike license.
Limousine or chauffeur driver
Although these driving jobs may be few and far between, there are still many hotels and private parties that require the services of a limousine or chauffeur. Employees are required to have the appropriate driver’s license and dress impeccably in the uniform that is provided.
Delivery truck driver
These driving jobs can either be short or long-haul. Some companies required their goods to be transported from one city to the next, while others might just be from one area to another. The size of the vehicles may also differ. Long-haul drivers usually drive big trucks and require code 10 licenses. These types of jobs require the drivers to be on the road for long periods of time. If a driver is transporting dangerous goods a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) must be obtained and the applicant must be over the age of 25 years. Applicants for a PDP must hold a valid driver’s license and obtain a medical clearance certificate.
Transporting people is another driving job that requires a PDP. The other requirement is that the applicant is over the age of 21 years. Bus drivers must be responsible drivers as they are moving people from place to place. They also have to stick to a schedule to ensure that people arrive and leave their destinations on time.
A forklift driver is responsible for moving goods from one location to another. They can work in a number of places like warehouses, large retailers, factories, storage yards, and construction sites. Forklift operators can either work set hours or shifts. This is all dependent on the industry and company they work for.
Dump truck driver
The role of a dump truck driver is to take materials such as rock and sand to specified locations. The driver must adhere to a schedule so that deliveries are made on time. Other responsibilities include determining the most time-effective routes as well as ensuring that the truck is well maintained.
Concrete truck driver
This type of job is available on construction sites. It involves transporting concrete as well as mixing and pouring concrete.
