The Gauteng Department of Education offers all learners an opportunity to apply for the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative. The GDE is mandated to provide compulsory basic education to all learners in the province progressively. If you are aged between 18 and 35, reside in Gauteng, and don’t have a criminal record then this could be the opportunity for you. There are hundreds of jobs available. The types of jobs include admin, sport, repairs, classroom assistants, and a lot more. This is a great initiative so please share with your family and friends and you could all get jobs together.

What is the program all about?
To provide educational assistants to schools to ensure continued learning and teaching in a safe environment. To provide youth with employment opportunities as part of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative.
Who must apply for this program?
All unemployed South African Youth that:
- Are between the ages of 18 – 35
- Reside in Gauteng
- Without criminal record
Where will you be based?
When you apply, you will be given a list of the 10 closest schools to your residence, you are able to select 5 schools of your choice. If you are successful you will be placed at one of the schools you have selected.
