Recon Clerk – Automotive Dealership

Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R13,000 – R18,000 per month, negotiable based on experience

A busy automotive dealership in Pinetown is currently recruiting an experienced Recon Clerk with a good technical understanding of motor vehicles.

The successful candidate will inspect incoming vehicles, identify faults and repairs required, arrange for vehicles to be sent to the appropriate workshops or service providers, and monitor the complete vehicle-reconditioning process.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect incoming vehicles and identify faults, damages and repairs required.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, bodywork and other vehicle repairs.
Send vehicles to the appropriate workshops or service providers.
Obtain quotations and monitor repair costs.
Follow up on outstanding repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
Liaise with internal departments and external service providers.
Maintain accurate repair, cost and progress records.
Ensure that all vehicles meet the dealership’s required standards.
Minimum Requirements:

Previous experience in vehicle reconditioning, workshop coordination or a similar automotive position would be advantageous.
A technical background or strong technical knowledge of motor vehicles is highly advantageous.
Ability to identify mechanical, electrical and general vehicle-related faults.
Previous automotive dealership experience would be advantageous.
Good administrative and organisational abilities.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to manage multiple vehicles and repairs at the same time.
