QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Minimum: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles. • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK), metadata management, and data lineage. • Experience supporting data ownership and stewardship ways of working (e.g., coordinating stewardship forums, maintaining RACI/decision logs, and driving follow-ups on actions). • Working knowledge of data classification and handling requirements (e.g., confidential/sensitive data), access controls, and secure data sharing practices. • Familiarity with master/reference data concepts (MDM/RDM) and defining critical data elements (CDEs) and quality rules. • Understanding of data lifecycle management, including retention, archival, and disposal aligned to legal/regulatory requirements. • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (POPIA, GDPR, CCPA), including privacy-by-design principles and impact assessments. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data governance tools (e.g. Collibra, Informatica). • Exposure to data science and engineering workflows, including AI model governance.
