The incumbent would be responsible ensuring content that is created for various channels under eMedia Investments delivers audience ratings, aligns to regulatory requirements and facilitates revenue generation.

Local Programming Team Support Functions
Screening and handling all telephone calls, emails and enquiries, inform with relevant department individual to attend to queries
Ensuring attendance at departmental meetings, taking minutes and distributing to the team in the following day
Booking boardrooms for meetings and ensure that catering and required technology is set up for meetings
Managing diaries of Executive Producers
Ensuring security passes for invited guests
Ensuring invited guests are welcomed at reception in time for the scheduled meeting
Initiating and finalize the production contracting process with sign off from the EP
Writing commission brief according channel strategy
Commission content briefs to industry and obtain approval from the EP
Reviewing and assessing programme proposals as assigned by EP
Inviting production houses to pitch proposals
Assisting in the selection of successful proposals in alignment with channel content strategy
Facilitating the providing of feedback to production companies
Compiling Local Programming SOP, Strat, etc. documents and checklists
Setting up Internal Presentations for new shows and movies and quarterly presentations for long running shows
Working closely with IT and LP Team to manage Proposal folders
Running the Local Programming share drive; checking that each EP’s folder has the correct and complete information for every worked on and are currently working on.
Tracking submission of deliverables to internal stakeholders (cast logs, contracts, sales decks, etc)
Editorial Planning
Supporting the Executive Producers in the development of innovative new programmes taking into consideration the Channels positioning and strategy
Spotting new trends in scripted content, new territories and approaches to contemporary programmes
Supporting Executive Producer to ensure assigned commissioned content achieves set ratings
Working closely with Executive Producer in ensuring that assigned programming meets targets for audience ratings and is commercially viable
Working closely with Executive Producer on up-coming story lines and attend viewings and feedback to Executive Producers
Local Content Execution
Viewing and giving editorial input on all programmes at online and offline stage
Ensuring producers deliver programs and promotional material as per agreed schedule presenting at all crucial meetings where content is discussed and viewed.
Ensuring timeous programme packages are delivered according to on air requirements, technical specifications with supporting library and record keeping material.
Communication
Establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships with EP’s
Assuming critical liaison between the channel and content supplier.
Demonstrating company values and foster a culture of creativity amongst peers.
Ensuring supporting teams are sufficiently informed to maximize on sales and marketing potential of shows.
Compliance
Familiarise broadcasting codes and regulatory frameworks.
Monitoring compliance by independent production companies with the terms outlined in commissioning agreements .
