The internship role
The internship position should be fulfilled for a minimum of six months, thereafter an extension can be negotiated. If there is a vacancy within the team or a different team that the intern would be suitable to fulfill, a permanent job offer would be considered.
Objective of role
Media strategy and media planning/buying is a strategic role within agencies. Media planners are responsible for analysing briefs from clients – and then matching the relevant media channels and ad formats with the target market and campaign objectives.
This role requires constant learning and the ideal candidate will be a problem solver by nature.
The ultimate goal of this role is to help clients build their brands and generate leads across the most effective platforms/channels. This is achieved by developing in-depth and well-formulated media strategies, and media plans based on our clients business objectives.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist the team with compiling media plans and creative chaselists
- Assist with consumer research and insights for presentations
- Assist with media owner bookings/IOs once media plans have been signed off
- Communication with media owners during campaigns
- Assist with reporting requirements and performance analysis
- Assist the media planning team with administrative tasks such as our knowledge library, department documents etc.
- Keep up to date with latest media channel offerings, ad formats etc.
Essential requirements
- Passionate about digital marketing and media channels such as Facebook, Youtube, TikTok etc.
- Relevant tertiary qualification related to the role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Tech-savvy and quick learner.
- Resourceful, eager to learn and takes initiative.
- Excellent time management and strong ability to work well within a team and self-managed environment.
