The Distell Packaging Technical Trainee Programme offers exceptional development opportunities to self-motivated, talented individuals that enables them to achieve their career ambitions! Through a fast-paced, accelerated learning environment, Packaging Technical Trainees will be empowered with the development, experience and mentorship needed to ensure well rounded technical supervisors in any FMCG environment.

The programme aims to build competent, well-equipped leaders of the future who will be able to lead the business and progress it to the next level.

After completing the traineeship, you should have acquired the relevant technical skills, leadership skills and knowledge base to fit into a leadership position within the Packaging Department. Successful completion of the programme could result in permanent placement within Distell.

Duration of Programme:

A 12-month period comprising of –

• Exposure to Supply Chain support functions with the emphasis on Packaging
• Improvement projects and workplace exposure
• Stand in periods for specific job roles
• The business value-chain and core business fundamentals

Structure

• An intensive overview of the leading packaging gaining exposure in a dynamic manufacturing environment and participation in challenging and exciting projects.
• Graduates are developed and coached by technical experts in their respective fields.
• A learning journey linked to an Action Learning Project with specific business deliverables.

We require Graduates in the following locations:

• Gauteng: Springs
• Gauteng: Wadeville
• Western Cape: Stellenbosh

Minimum Requirements

• Recently completed graduated students (no work experience) with a diploma in Engineering (NQF 6)
• South African citizen
• Good tertiary academic results
• Computer Literate
• Have the potential to make a positive impact in a challenging environment.
• Highly motivated and a self-manager
• The person should have a strong performance record that can be verified from past tasks and assignments
• Be able to effectively interact with persons of diverse backgrounds and education levels
• Have good analytical and problem resolving capabilities
