We are looking for an OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT & SYSTEMS GRADUATE to join a company that employs real people to do exceptional things. Your time with us will start in January 2023 and our programme runs for 24 months.

What you will be doing:

  1. Production Departments
  • Data collection
    • Assisting with the development of scientific methods of data collection for production departments
    • Ensuring that process maps are updated timeously
    • Ensuring that production management data is collected scientifically, captured accurately, verified and analysed
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
    • Assisting with data-driven continuous improvement projects by identifying trends in production processes
    • Designing and implementing digital, automated data collection methods for some departments
  • Data analyses
    • Improve data management processes by conducting data audits
  1. Stock Program
  • Data management
    • Ensuring that data is timeously captured
    • Ensuring that the batch data on the stock program matches the batch data on the platforms
    • Developing stock count methods and conducting stock counts
    • Analysing data to map out gaps and potential improvements
    • Auditing data to ensure inputs are accurate
  1. Operations Management Projects
  • Design and implementation of operations management projects – assist with intensive research
  • Design and implementation of technology-oriented operations management projects aimed at identified and potential operations gaps
  • Using data to design and implement/evaluate production standards in collaboration with production managers
  • Researching, designing and implementing efficient feed (Ulva lactuca, Gracilaria gracilis) production projects/systems

What you will need to be considered:

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management
  • A minimum average of 60% in your final year

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to work in Gansbaai a beautiful coastal town near Hermanus in the Western Cape
  • Any vacation experience or part-time work, in-service training or Internship would be highly advantageous
  • Gained experience and/or knowledge during vacation or part-time work, in-service training or internship programme in:
    • A production environment
    • Production processes and/or systems
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of scientific methods of data collection, analysis and presentation
