An established accounting and tax practice is looking for a motivated SAIPA Trainee Accountant who is serious about building a long-term career in accounting and taxation. This opportunity offers broad practical exposure across accounting, taxation, financial reporting, SARS compliance and client accounting services while completing your SAIPA training requirements.

Requirements

Relevant BCom Accounting / Accounting-related degree or equivalent qualification

Must meet the academic requirements for SAIPA training

Strong accounting fundamentals and understanding of financial statements

Good Microsoft Excel and general computer skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational and time-management abilities

Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Comfortable working both independently and within a team

Professional client communication skills

Good communication skills in English and Afrikaans

Valid driver’s licence and own transport

Genuine interest in pursuing a career in accounting and taxation

Duties

Assist with annual financial statements and management accounts

Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions up to trial balance

Assist with VAT, PAYE, UIF and other SARS submissions

Assist with income tax calculations and returns for individuals, companies and trusts

Complete bank, debtors, creditors and general ledger reconciliations

Assist with independent review preparation

Liaise with clients regarding accounting records and outstanding information

Assist with SARS and CIPC compliance

Maintain accurate working papers and accounting records

Provide general accounting support to the professional team
