Our client, an established Chartered Accountancy firm in Knysna, is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. With no external audits, this is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to focus on meaningful client work, financial reporting, accounting and taxation.

Requirements

B.Com degree

Minimum 5 years’ accountancy experience

SAIPA, SAIBA or SAICA qualification advantageous

Strong financial statement preparation experience

Good knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and accounting principles

Experience with Companies, CCs and Trusts

Sound knowledge of income tax and VAT

Bookkeeping and month-end accounting experience

Draftworx and Xero experience preferred

Greatsoft experience advantageous

Strong analytical, communication and time-management skills

Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

Compile Annual Financial Statements

Prepare financial statements for Companies, CCs and Trusts

Assist with independent reviews

Prepare income tax calculations and assist with tax planning

Handle VAT calculations and submissions

Assist clients with monthly accounting and bookkeeping

Assist with payroll, EMP201 and EMP501 submissions

Deal directly with clients on accounting and tax matters
