POSITION OVERVIEW
Takora Human Capital, representing our Australian client, is seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanics for opportunities in Australia.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of heavy-duty vehicles, mobile equipment and associated mechanical systems.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant Heavy-Duty Mechanic experience and meet all applicable client, trade, immigration and skills-assessment requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years’ relevant Heavy-Duty Mechanic experience.
Relevant qualification in Heavy-Duty/Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics or a related trade.
Demonstrated practical experience working on heavy-duty vehicles, trucks, plant or mobile equipment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience with servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy-duty mechanical systems.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and specifications.
Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Must meet applicable Australian trade and skills-assessment requirements where mandatory.
Candidates must be eligible under the client’s specified country and recruitment criteria.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect, diagnose and repair heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance.
Conduct mechanical servicing and component replacement.
Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems and other mechanical components as applicable.
Perform inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
Conduct repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Test equipment and vehicles following repairs.
Ensure vehicles and equipment are safe and operational.
Use tools, machinery and diagnostic equipment safely.
Maintain a clean and organised workshop/work area.
Comply with occupational health and safety requirements.
Work effectively with supervisors, mechanics and other technical personnel.

SKILLS ASSESSMENT
