Remote Proofreader no experience Full Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Proofreader to review and correct written content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand or style guidelines. The ideal candidate has excellent language skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

As a proofreader, you will review a variety of content such as articles, reports, marketing materials, academic documents, websites, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors

• Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and style

• Check facts, references, and basic data accuracy where required

• Ensure content follows established style guides (APA, Chicago, MLA, or company-specific)

• Track changes and provide clear corrections and suggestions

• Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards

• Communicate with editors, writers, or project managers remotely

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Excellent written English proficiency

• Strong grammar and proofreading skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Reliable internet connection and computer

• Familiarity with proofreading tools (Microsoft Word Track Changes, Google Docs, Grammarly, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or certification in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field

• Previous experience in proofreading, editing, or content review

• Knowledge of style guides (APA, Chicago, MLA)

• Experience proofreading digital or online content

Hourly rate depends on experience.
