Farm Manager, Alberta Canada (Relocation) Full Time

About the Employer:

Our client is a well-established, family-owned company located in a rural Alberta community north of Edmonton. Its operations span heavy equipment and truck sales, reconditioning, transportation, and agriculture.

This is not a large city dealership where technicians work on the same types of units every day. The company buys, reconditions, and sells a constantly changing range of used trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery. One week may bring highway trucks into the shop, while the next brings construction, agricultural, or industrial equipment.

You will work in a fully equipped, hands-on shop alongside an experienced team, with the owners actively involved in the day-to-day operation. Employees are trusted to take ownership of their work, solve problems, and help return each unit to a safe, reliable working standard.

The position is based in rural Alberta and is best suited to someone who is prepared to relocate and establish a long-term life in the community. Candidates relocating with a spouse or children are welcome, and the location offers a quieter, family-oriented lifestyle within driving distance of Edmonton.

Hours per Week: 36 hours per week

Wage: $36.00 CAD per hour

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations: Oversee daily farming operations, including crop production and harvesting activities on a large scale commercial grain operation.

Machinery: Operate and manage farm equipment including swathers, combines, tractors and related machinery.

Planning: Plan, organise and supervise seasonal work and harvest schedules.

Crop and Field Management: Monitor crop conditions and ensure proper maintenance of fields and equipment.

Inventory: Manage inventory of supplies, fuel and equipment maintenance schedules.

Supervision: Train and supervise workers as required.

Equipment Repair: Repair and service all farm equipment and grain trucks, and fabricate and repair farm machinery.

Precision Agriculture: Install and programme GPS guidance systems, and install and programme robotic herbicide spraying systems.

Safety: Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and agricultural best practices.

Employment Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship or post qualification in large scale grain farming, cereal, oilseed and forage.

Technical: GPS guidance and robotic or automated spraying system experience. Equipment repair and fabrication.
