Cafe Shop Manager Full Time

General Manager – Specialty Coffee Shop (Linden, Johannesburg)
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and people-focused General Manager to lead our specialty coffee shop in Linden.
This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys building relationships with customers, and can create a warm, welcoming atmosphere while driving operational excellence. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is just as comfortable chatting with regulars on the floor as they are managing staff, stock, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a team of baristas and café staff
Create an exceptional customer experience and build relationships with regular customers
Be actively present on the floor during service
Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance
Oversee daily café operations and service standards
Manage stock ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
Monitor sales, costs, and profitability
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and quality standards are maintained
Assist in growing the café’s community presence and customer engagement
Requirements
Previous management or supervisory experience in hospitality, cafés, restaurants, or retail
Passion for specialty coffee and customer service
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and people-management abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Organised, proactive, and solutions-driven
Comfortable working weekends and flexible hours
Knowledge of specialty coffee is advantageous but not essential
