NOW HIRING | EXECUTIVE CHEF – KENYA

Are you an experienced Executive Chef with a passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional food and creating unforgettable guest experiences?

My client is looking for an inspiring culinary leader to take charge of the kitchen operation at a 5-star luxury safari lodge in Kenya.

THE ROLE
As Executive Chef, you will lead the culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations — from menu development and food quality to cost control, procurement and team development.

You’ll have the opportunity to create innovative culinary experiences using sustainable, locally sourced ingredients, while showcasing the flavours and culture of East Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, inspire and develop the culinary team
• Create innovative menus reflecting local culture and seasonality
• Deliver consistently exceptional food quality and presentation
• Oversee bush dining, picnics, game-drive snacks and special events
• Manage food costs, procurement, stock and kitchen administration
• Maintain outstanding food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Cater confidently for dietary requirements and special requests
• Reduce food waste and promote sustainable kitchen practices
• Engage with guests and create memorable culinary experiences
• Drive continuous improvement through guest feedback

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• 5+ years’ experience as an Executive Chef or in a comparable senior culinary leadership role
• Experience in a 5-star luxury hospitality environment
• Previous luxury safari lodge or remote hospitality experience is highly advantageous
• Recognised culinary degree or diploma
• Proven leadership, training and team-development experience
• Strong menu development, costing, procurement and stock-management skills
• Excellent knowledge of international cuisines and current food trends
• Strong understanding of sustainable food practices and local sourcing
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote environment
• A genuine passion for food, hospitality and exceptional guest experiences
