Debt Collector Contract

Introduction

Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
Handle questions or complaints
Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Create trust relationships with debtors, when possible, to avoid future issues
Update account status regularly

Solid understanding of our services, products, and debt collection procedures
Ability to apply company policies effectively during interactions
Conflict Resolution & Problem Solving

Skilled in managing disputes constructively
Strong problem-solving capabilities and emotional resilience
Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to different management styles

Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
No history of irregular absenteeism or habitual lateness
Self-motivated and receptive to constructive feedback
Time Management & Decision-Making

Proven ability to manage time efficiently and make sound decisions
Capable of maintaining focus and productivity over extended periods
Language & Technical Proficiency

Proficient in business English and at least one other official South African language
Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
Strong typing and administrative skills
Skilled in managing disputes constructively
Strong problem-solving capabilities and emotional resilience
Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to different management styles
Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum 1 year experience as debt collector
Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
Knowledge of relevant legal requirements
Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
Excellent communication and people skills
Negotiating and persuading skills
Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence.
