Our team started as two good friends and only 32 products in a lounge in Cape Town, and now there are more than 180 of us who help make Yuppiechef South Africa’s premier kitchen and homeware store. What your role looks like
Your role would be to gather and collate complete and accurate product information from various sources (internal and external) in relation to the products we list. This involves uploading large amounts of product information onto our systems and managing email communication from potential suppliers – you must enjoy providing clarity around a product for our customers
You would also be responsible for maintaining and administering the new product process and reviewing information for accuracy.
You will collaborate in reviewing the stock status of new products and liaising with suppliers as necessary and collating data and generate information for Buyers to discuss with Suppliers (i.e. Supplier meeting preparation)

You will be working quite closely within a multifaceted Buying team that is passionate about what they do and set high standards for what Yuppiechef wants to achieve as well as our talented Web Team whilst becoming a star at liaising between these departments and our suppliers. This is a great place for the right experienced candidate to share their knowledge and skills as well as to be inspired to reach ever-increasing levels of excellence.
Who you are
We are looking for a teammate who has a high attention to detail and is comfortable talking to a variety of people in different roles and positions. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills and an affinity to learning new systems. Your level of organization and efficiency will leave us in awe and your experience within retail dealing with suppliers directly (preferably in the kitchen and home product area) makes us wonder why you are only wanting to join us now.
What experience and skills you need for the role
This role is best suited for an organisational dynamo who wants to enhance their business experience in a growing and innovative retail business. Ideally, you should have:
Experience in an administrative role with financial or stock process understanding
Strong computer skills and comfortable working on multiple and complex computer systems.
Worked in a role that requires high-level organising and efficiency.
Self-driven and able to self manage outputs – demonstrate in a previous role
E-commerce experience is advantageous

Your salary is based on a “Total Cost To Company” model and includes:
