Aeronautical OR Mechanical Design Engineer with experience Steel Metal +Fixtures + Tooling Design – Pretoria JHB

Age 24 years – 42 years

Must be able to start immediately or within 1-2 days

Mechanical Degree 4year Engineering Degree is essential

Minimum 3 – 8+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design field

With 4+ years’ working experience in Sheet/ Steel metal and Geo-Fixture and Tooling Design

3D CAD modelling but specifically with strong Solid works working experience

Conceptualize + design Body-in-White Fixtures (BIW).

Conceptualize + design robotic welding and assembly cell layouts.

Conceptualize+ design end of arm tooling and geo-fixtures.

Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (advantageous)

Conceptualize and design mechanical purpose-built machinery, industrial equipment, robotic welding and assembly cells, body in white jigs, conveyance systems and lifting equipment.

Analyse mechanical functionality of systems, including Finite Element Analysis.

Specification of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

Specification of electro-mechanical and pneumatic control systems.

Good Understanding of the Steel Metal+ Fixture and Tooling Production Process.

Good Understanding of Tolerance + References.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Able to work under pressure and to deadlines

Specification of required system components

Develop manufacturing drawings + BOM’s in accordance with applicable company standards using Solidworks.

Interface with Customers, Vendors, Production Managers and Procurement to find optimal solutions.

Read and interpret, technical drawings and schematics.

Work to company CAD and PDM standards.

Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience gained

Detailed designs must be done to applicable ISO, SABS and Customer Standards

Prepared to work overtime when required

R25 000-35 000 negotiable CTC per month
