The position reports to the Payroll Supervisor and will involve the compilation of the weekly/monthly payrolls, together with various supplementary components of the job, which require a mature and confidential approach.
Salary – negotiable depending on experience
The successful applicant must be able to provide a proven track-record in the following competencies:
Senior Certificate in Finance
Tertiary or payroll and accounting qualification
Strong payroll principles, computer and payroll system skills
A minimum of 2 years payroll wage and salary experience
Work independently as well as a team, to strict deadlines, which require accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Working knowledge of all labour legislation and National Bargaining Council agreement for the Road Freight Industry, the latter is advantageous
Require to have strong reconciliation skills and use of own initiative
Good understanding and practical knowledge of employee tax and statutory requirement
Ability to co-ordinate and control information from distant regions
Key Responsibilities
Performing the full payroll function, which will be, collating pay information from distant regions, processing, verifying and reconciling taking into account legislation, company policy and audit requirement.
Performing monthly payroll reconciliations and payments
Performing Balance Sheet reconciliations for payroll related accounts.
Performing the salaried cashbook
