PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB
A toolmaker makes tools for manufacturing through a machining process, utilizing equipment to produce quality output.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Matric

Minimum N2, N3 mechanical engineering advantage

Years of Experience 2 – 4 years in a similar environment especially Tool Making role

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Knowledge of die preventative maintenance.
Jig modifications and repairs.
Tool concern analysis and fault findings.
Tool major repairs and Re build
Spare parts management.
Root cause analysis using the 5 Why or 4M root cause analysis methodology.
Tool refurbishment skills.
Meeting die repair dead line schedule to support production requirement.
Work without or limited supervision even on critical Items.
Able to work on all tool room machine including the work bench tasks.
Precision machining with the tolerance of 0.05mm.
Automotive components experience(No plastic molding tool maker)
Able to repair on line breakdown within the allowed repair time to reduce production stoppages
Tool maker should have served a full apprenticeship period prior to trade test.
Red Seal trade test qualification.
Understanding tool rigging method and procedures.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawing for die component  manufacturing.
Ability to repair die with cam and draw die.
Welding skills, Tig weld, Arc Welding and CO2 welding.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Tool making knowledge
Must have served a full apprenticeship in prier Trade Test
Tool Analysis and fault finding
Tool refurbishment and rebuilding
Drawing Interpretation skills
Knowledge of Jig Modification and repairs
Knowledge of Root Cause analysis using 5 Why and / 4m Methodology
