DATABASE DEVELOPER Full Time

A rapidly growing business who is the first-of-its-kind in its industry is currently seeking for a Database developer to join their dynamic team.

Duties include but not limited to:

•Design, develop, install and implement database systems based on project requirements.
•Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.
•Script functions and stored procedures to support application development.
•Refactor structure of existing DBs to meet evolving requirements of the company
•Optimize database systems to promote performance efficiency.
•Perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.
•Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
•Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
•Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.
•Analyse Database logs to troubleshoot database related issues.
•Implement best security practices for DBs
•
Minimum Requirements:

•Matric
•A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology would be advantageous
•Experience in applying technical design and development skills to the creation of databases
•Knowledge or relational databases (PostgreSQL & MYSQL) and NO SQL DBs (Mongo)
•In depth understanding of DB configuration variables for performance tuning
•Experience in using database backup and file transfer tools
•Good analytical skills in identifying bottlenecks or envision clogging in existing stored procedures
•Knowledge of networking and web security fundamentals
