Specification

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

1.To ensure colleagues able to carry out their duties with fully functional PCs
2.To manage and secure internet access always.
3.To ensure zero abuse of Internet access by students and colleagues.
4.Secure network free of malicious viruses.
5.All support calls and queries resolved within agreed SLA.
6.All Printers are in working order
7.Backups are done as per roster.
8.No backups missed –no data lost
9.Restoring from backup tapes

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:

1.Installing network and computer systems.
2.Maintaining, repairing and upgrading network and computer systems.
3.Diagnosing and fixing problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software and systems.
4.Monitoring network and systems to improve performance

Requirements

Job Requirements:

1.Matric and a Diploma / Certification in IT is essential . Highly desirable certifications include the following:
a)CompTIA A+ Certification.
b)CompTIA Network+ Certification.
c)CompTIA Security+ Certification.
2.A minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role is required.
3.Computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
